Australian Pharmacy Sleep Services was created with the goal of helping as many pharmacies help as many Australians as possible overcome their obstructive sleep apnoea concerns with ease. Our mission still stands today. We aim to provide patients with easy access to the best available sleep apnoea solutions available in the market with personalised, local, face-to-face support every step of the way.

The APSS program offers pharmacies extensive hands-on staff training from initial patient screening and testing through to diagnosis, product trials as well as marketing and a dedicated APSS Account Manager for you. We are always just a call away. Plus, the improvement of a patient’s health is always our top priority.

Easy at home sleep testing
Patients wear a Philips Alice NightOne diagnostic device overnight in the comfort of their home. The device is extremely simple to use and can be put on in just a few minutes.
A tailored CPAP therapy trial
With APSS training you will be able to find the right CPAP machine and mask for your patient that they can take home to trial for 4 full weeks. During this trial period patients will adapt to therapy and their lives will improve.
No waitlist and no GP referral required
The APSS program is a simple, quick and easy process. Patients can get screened for OSA and set up for sleep testing while they are already in store picking up a script.
For the duration of your patients’ testing, trial and beyond you will deepen your relationship with your patient by providing support and guidance on any questions, concerns or feedback.
Dedicated sleep apnoea consultant
You can also choose to assign one of your staff members to be your dedicated in-store expert on obstructive sleep apnoea. This helps your pharmacy’s ability to discuss each patient’s unique situation, recommend and send them home with the best possible equipment.
We identified obstructive sleep apnoea as a gap we were missing out on. We chose APSS as it’s a really quick turnaround time with the studies and patients can do it in their own home. Compared to other health services we find it’s a great partnership we have with APSS.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a consult room?
Whilst we prefer to say yes to give the patient more privacy, we have many stores running the program successfully without a consultation room. The setup of the sleep test device on the patient can be done in an open area in the store as it doesn’t require the patient to lay down on a bed and isn’t exposing in anyway. The ongoing consultations with the patient during trial and treatment can also be done in a quiet area of your store – gauge from your customer what they are comfortable with.
What’s my financial commitment for an opening order?
We have a recommended opening order that will ensure your store is set up to test, put patients on CPAP trial and sell machines and masks. We’re able to adjust the opening order to suit your store needs so please contact us to discuss how the APSS program could work in your store.
How long does an initial consultation take?
To screen a patient and set them up with the home sleep test takes approx. 15-30 minutes depending on the patients questions or concerns. Please visit the patient journey and see a step by step guide on the time and process involved in diagnosing and treating a patient.
What makes the program a success?
We find our top performing stores who are carrying out several sleep studies per week and are putting patients onto trial, are great at screening for patients – 58% of Type 2 diabetes patients have OSA, 85% of people on blood pressure medication have OSA. The success of your sleep apnoea business will mean allowing time for patient appointments, ongoing training and organisation of the program. Some of our stores have a dedicated Sleep Apnoea Consultant within their store. This consultant can be an existing staff member that has a genuine interest in sleep services and enjoys having 1-1 conversations with customers. The consultant will screen for patients and manages the entire program.
What support does APSS provide me after I receive the opening order?
APSS gives you all the tools you need to diagnose, treat and sell to patients with OSA. We provide you with an initial full day training workshop so you and your staff are confident running the program, POS materials for your store so you can let customers know you offer sleep services and we also provide you and your staff a dedicated APSS representative who regularly visits your store and is consistently available to contact. You’re never alone.
